1. The Original Sin of Adam closed Heaven for all men (sanctifying grace was lost) ... Hell became the only possible destination for the immortal souls of men. 2. 7. One can still be Catholic and get to Heaven with a proper baptism in water

Catholic writing of Hebrews 5:1 >
"For every high priest taken from among men, is ordained for men in the things that appertain to God, that he may offer up gifts and sacrifices

Note 1: When there was a priesthood, the New Testament priests offered the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ to God the Father. This is the identical Sacrifice of Calvary but re-presented (made present again) by sacramental grace. Please see Saint John 6:48-59 and 1 Corinthians 11:24,25,27.
Note 2: Men, being creatures had nothing to offer God to make reparations for their sins because God is infinite so sins against Him are an infinite offense. This is why God (the Son) had to offer Himself to God (the Father) to repair for sins.
Note 3: Even though Mass is not available at this time you can still be fully Catholic and get to Heaven if you are baptized in water, believe the Catholic Dogma (on Section 3), stay free from grave sin, and do sufficient charity to get to Heaven.

God reveals an order of priesthood who offers bread and wine. This is a foreshadowing of the (currently unavailable) Catholic priesthood and Eucharist, and the offering of the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ under the appearances of Bread and Wine. Jesus Christ instituted the Mass at the Last Supper.
