1. The word enmity ... means total opposition ... no overlap between the woman and the devil, the woman (the Blessed Virgin) is not "bruised" by the devil, since she is free from all sin.
2. Hides the fact that the Blessed Virgin was conceived free from Original Sin (see Introduction of this site on Original Sin).
3. Hides the fact that the Blessed Virgin is body and soul in Heaven (being free from sin) as we see in the Dogma and in Apocalypse 12:1.
4. Changing "she shall crush thy head" ... to "it shall bruise thy head" makes no sense (implying the "it" to be Christ). Changing "her heel" to "his heel" also makes no sense. The reason these corruptions make no sense is that we know that the devil cannot harm God, and this does not need to be explained in Scripture.
5. Changing Genesis 3:15 ... from "her heel" to "his heel" ... also makes no sense because the devil is a contingent being. God can simply make the devil disappear from the creation by not willing him to exist ... so a conflict between God and the devil is a moot point. For this reason also, the conflict is between the woman (the Blessed Virgin) and the devil.
