Introduction ... the Ordinary Magisterium (random writings) ... can never contradict the Solemn Magisterium (infallible Dogma):

1.  There are two Magisteriums of the Catholic Church which teach the world the Catholic truths and they exist simultaneously ... the Solemn Magisterium and the Ordinary Magisterium.

2.  The Solemn Magisterium teaching is the body of Catholic Dogma, the Sources of Dogma ... in the Catholic Church Councils and Ex-Cathedra decrees.

3.  The Sources of Dogma are the very definition of the Catholic Faith, defined by the Pope in union with the Bishops of the world.

4.  The Pope is only infallible when he defines something formally in union with the bishops of the world ... and only on matters of Faith and Morals for subjects that were addressed before the death of the last Apostle (Catholic Saint John) ... Dogma regarding this is on Section 104 of this site.

5.  The Ordinary Magisterium are other writings of the Church which are not Sources of Dogma, they are from non-Dogmatic venues. These non-Dogmatic venue writings include ... writings of Saints, most of the writings of the Popes, writings of bishops, martyrologies, devotional practices, hymns, etc. For subjects which are already addressed by the Solemn Magisterium ... the Ordinary Magisterium writings must only defend and promote the defined Dogma.

6.  Related issue: Canonizations of Saints are not infallible as is proven on Section 104 of this site (and in the last part of this Section), if you see a writing by someone who has been designated as a Saint which opposes a Sources of Dogma you have to reject it as heresy.

7.  The Ordinary Magisterium can never contradict the Solemn Magisterium. If there is something (in what is supposed to be) an Ordinary Magisterium writing which goes against a teaching of the Solemn Magisterium (the Dogma) it is in fact  not part  of the Ordinary Magisterium ... and you must reject it as heresy otherwise you lose your own soul.

Two cautions on this subject

Caution - to avoid confusion 1: The non-Catholic vatican-2 jew-heretic cult (founded in 1965 at the Vatican) "promotes" something they call the "ordinary universal magisterium" in their heretical and profane document called "Lumen Gentium", paragraph 25 as follows: "Although the individual bishops do not enjoy the prerogative of infallibility, they nevertheless proclaim Christ's doctrine infallibly whenever, even though dispersed through the world, but still maintaining the bond of communion among themselves and with the successor of Peter, and authentically teaching matters of faith and morals, they are in agreement on one position as definitively to be held."

One can see the logical impossibility of the fake vatican-2 bishops somehow "magically agreeing" on something while dispersed around the world. This monstrosity is called the "ordinary universal magisterium" to make it sound Catholic ... it is obvious that this is just another way for the v-2 cult to attack the Catholic Dogma of the Catholic Church which the vatican-2-ists are not even members of ... and to attack the manner in which the Catholic Church defines Dogma. The Catholic De Fide Dogma which categorizes the Faith is listed in Section 3 of this website. The anti-Christ vatican-2 cult cannot define Catholic Dogma ... but to help illustrate: can anyone cite a Divinely revealed truth defined by the "ordinary universal magisterium"?

Caution - to avoid confusion 2: The Vatican Council of 1870, in Session 3, Chapter 3, Part 8 states: "All those things are to be believed ... as divinely revealed, whether by her solemn judgment or in her ordinary and universal magisterium."

This statement of the Vatican Council of 1870 is not in accord with Catholic teaching The Solemn Magisterium alone defines the Dogma which must be believed by the faithful while the Ordinary defends, teaches, and supports the solemn definitions ... over 30 examples of this are listed on Section 3.3.

There is no such thing as something called the ... "Ordinary and Universal Magisterium" defining something as Divinely revealed ... there is no process or mechanism in place by which such a thing could possibly happen in what used to be the Bishop Offices around the world. This problem in Chapter 3, Part 8 may have arisen because of the translation from the Latin into English.

Examples illustrating that random Saint's writings cannot reject infallible Dogma

Sub-part Introduction:

This hazard to your immortal soul is most easily resolved ... by illustrating a few examples in this regard.

If you are talking to any of the automatically excommunicated anti-Christ vatican-2 group leaders (who are dressed like Catholic priests and who reside in buildings that have Catholic signs out front) on these subjects ... we can guarantee you that your immortal soul will be assaulted in the below manner.

Example 1:

A Catholic Saint supposedly had somewhere in his writing that he "believed" in "baptism of desire", or "wrote" that he had a vision of an un-baptized catechumen who was "in Heaven" ... or some such wild scenario which denies the Ex-Cathdra Dogma on Water Baptism ... listed in Section 7.2 of this site.

The simple Catholic resolution to this apparent "contradiction" :

The resolution ...

If you believe the supposed statement of the Saint (which of course is from a non-Dogmatic source) that attacks the water baptism dogma ... instead of believing the above listed Sources of Dogma on this subject you are headed for Hell. This is the simple Catholic resolution to this "problem".

But you may still be wondering what do I make of this supposed statement by the Saint? This is simple also. The supposed statement by the Saint cannot be considered as part of the Ordinary Magisterium teaching of the Church since it contradicts the teaching of the Solemn Magisterium (the Dogma). You simply disregard it as heresy.

But you may still be considering ... this person has been defined as a Saint. If the person in question actually said such a thing against the water baptism dogma, then he confessed his sins against the Faith and repented of his heresy before he died.



Example 2:

This example addresses one of the three heretical statements (all three, of course, in non-Dogmatic sources) by Pope Pius IX (which he repented of) that those ignorant of the Catholic Dogma my be getting to Heaven. This is a favorite of the anti-Christ vatican-2 jew-heretic cult to make sure that vatican-2-ists remain as heretics (against the Salvation Dogma) and on the road to Hell which they all are anyway for physical participation in a heretical society (vatican-2). Section 13.2.2 list Sources of Dogma on automatic excommunication for physical participation in a heretic cult.

If you believe the heretical statement by Pius IX instead of the Dogma that ignorance of the Catholic Faith causes the loss of your soul, then you are headed for Hell. This is the simple Catholic resolution to this "problem".

You may still be asking yourself ... what do we make of the statement by Pius IX? This is simple. Since the statement in "Singulari Quidem" is heresy you reject it as heresy and ... as not being part of the Ordinary Magisterium teaching of the Church since it contradicts the teaching of the Solemn Magisterium (the Dogma).



Example 3:

You may come across text somewhere, again supposedly written by a Saint, that states that someone who died outside of the Catholic Church "was being prayed for" ... or someone outside of the Catholic Church "died for Christ" (heretics don't die for Christ since they are not Christians) ... or some other similiar scenario.

The simple Catholic resolution to this apparent "contradiction" :

The resolution ...

If you believe the supposed writing of the Saint that there might be a non-Catholic in Heaven instead of the Catholic Dogma on Salvation you are headed for Hell. This is the simple Catholic resolution to this "problem".

As far as the supposed writing of the Saint (which of course is from a non-Dogmatic source) in this scenario you would simply reject it as not being part of the Ordinary Magisterium of the Church since it is opposed to the Solemn Magisterium (the Dogma). Since this is the case you simply reject the writing as heresy.

You may be asking ... what do we make of the Saint who supposedly wrote such a thing? The Saint would have had to repent of his heresy before he died.

Another problem/consideration in this regard is that the publishing houses are run by jews and heretics who have no problem in shoving heresy into their publications. This includes the publishing houses with the Catholic names.

Related issue ... Canonizations of Saints are not infallible, they are not Dogma

~     ~     ~

When the Church canonizes someone does the canonization itself raise to the level of being infallible? The answer to this question is: No, canonizations are not infallible.

The Catholic Church's teaching on this is covered in the below four topic sections.

This is a related subject because ... the person you are speaking to may insist that a random writing of a Saint or Pope, which is against Catholic Dogma, can be used to argue against a given Dogma. He may attack your soul many times over by saying: "But this person has been canonized as a Saint".

You can then inform him of the below Catholic teaching that canonizations are not infallible, but the Dogma is ... and if the person who has been designated as a Saint died in the state of heresy against a particular Dogma ... then that person lost his soul.

This is the Catholic solution to this apparent "contradiction".



(1) Teaching of the Catholic Church ... that canonizations are not infallible:

By Catholic definition, the entire supernatural revelation of the Catholic Faith ended with the death of the last Apostle, Catholic Saint John.

The Pope only has the charism of infallibility when promulgating Sources of Dogma related to the Catholic Faith and Morals ... the revelation of which ended with the death of Saint John. In other words, the subject of an infallible decree on Faith or Morals would have to be a subject revealed before the death of the last Apostle.

The sanctity and works of charity of someone who lived in the 12th century is not a subject of Divine revelation before the death of the last Apostle.

The sanctity and works of charity of someone who lived in the 14th century is not a subject of Divine revelation before the death of the last Apostle.

Dogma that addresses this was provided at the Vatican Council of 1870 as follows:

"Now this supernatural revelation, according to the belief of the universal church, as declared by the sacred Council of Trent, is contained in written books and unwritten traditions, which were received by the apostles from the lips of Christ himself, or came to the apostles by the dictation of the holy Spirit, and were passed on as it were from hand to hand until they reached us."

Vatican Council of 1870, Session 4, 18 July 1870, Chapter 4 - On the infallible teaching authority of the Roman Pontiff, Paragraph 6 -- Ex-Cathedra Dogma >
For the holy Spirit was promised to the successors of Peter not so that they might, by his revelation, make known some new doctrine, but that, by his assistance, they might religiously guard and faithfully expound the revelation or deposit of faith transmitted by the apostles.

"Revelation, constituting the object of the Catholic faith, was not completed with the Apostles."   (Condemned as error)

Summary:

Papal canonizations (which started in the 9th or 10th century) cannot fall under this umbrella of infallibility because the canonizations do not address subjects covered in the Divine revelation period.

The subject of the canonizations are the sanctity of persons, so they cannot be treated in an infallible manner.



(2) Teaching of the Catholic Church ... that canonizations are not infallible:

Popes can only teach infallibly on matters of Faith and Morals, they cannot teach infallibly regarding the sanctity of persons. This was defined at the Vatican Council of 1870 as follows:

Vatican Council of 1870, Session 4, 18 July 1870, Chapter 4 - On the infallible teaching authority of the Roman Pontiff, Paragraph 6 -- Ex-Cathedra Dogma >
We teach and define as a divinely revealed dogma that when the Roman pontiff speaks Ex-Cathedra, that is, when,
        1. In the exercise of his office as shepherd and teacher of all Christians,
        2. In virtue of his supreme apostolic authority,
        3. He defines a doctrine concerning faith or morals to be held by the whole church,
He possesses, by the divine assistance promised to him in blessed Peter, that infallibility which the divine Redeemer willed his church to enjoy in defining doctrine concerning faith or morals. Therefore, such definitions of the Roman pontiff are of themselves, and not by the consent of the Church, irreformable.

Summary:

This dogmatic citation states the the Pope has the charism of infallibility (under the conditions of this decree) when teaching on Faith and Morals, not on the subject of the final destination of men's souls.



(3) Teaching of the Catholic Church ... that canonizations are not infallible:

Catholic right reason on this subject:

Before the 9th or 10th century local Bishops would grant that certain persons such as martyrs and confessors could be given public ecclesiastical honour; such honour, however took place in the local territory over which the grantors held jurisdiction.

There is dispute as to when the first canonization occurred that was granted by a Pope. Some say it was Leo III’s canonization of St. Swibert in 804; others say the canonization of St. Udalrio by John XV. in 993 A.D.

Since only the Pope has the charism of infallibility, one cannot say that those who were declared Saints prior to the 9th or 10th century are infallibly in Heaven since the local Bishops who made these decrees do not have the charism of infallibility. Those who were declared Saints prior to the 9th or 10th century are designated as "Pre-Congregation".

Based on this peripheral aspect of this subject, the Catholic Church does not teach that canonizations are infallible.



(4) Teaching of the Catholic Church ... that canonizations are not infallible:

The list of the Dogma of the Catholic Church is on Section 3 of this website. Canonizations are not addressed in a Dogmatic manner by the Solemn Magisterium. The Solemn Magisterium has dogmatically stated that it is permissible and profitable to venerate the Saints, their relics, and their images.

"It is good and useful suppliantly to invoke them, and to have recourse to their prayers, aid, (and) help for obtaining benefits from God, through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our alone Redeemer and Saviour."
 
Search of the writings of the worldwide Catholic Councils (in an ms-word document), on the word canonization:

The word "canonizations" appears only one time in the writings of the Catholic worldwide Councils it is discussed in the Council of Florence as follows:

Council of Florence, Session 23 26 March 1436 >
"Since the cardinals of the holy Roman church are considered to be part of the body of the Roman pontiff, it is extremely expedient for the common good that, following ancient custom, serious and difficult questions should hereafter be settled on their advice and direction after mature deliberation, especially the following: decisions on matters of faith; canonizations of saints ..."

This extract from the Council of Florence mentions that the Pope should get advice and direction from Cardinals on matters of faith. There is nothing about canonizations being infallible.

Our search of the Council texts shows that there is no Canon, Decree, or other teaching in any Council that states that canonizations are infallible.

If infallible canonizations ... was a teaching of the Catholic Church it most certainly would have shown up in this search.
 
Search of the entire Denzinger Sources of Catholic Dogma (in an ms-word document), on the word canonization:

There is one instance of the word "canonization" (in Article 342) of the Denzinger. This is a decree regarding the veneration of St. Udalrich, a Bishop.

There are no articles in the Denzinger Sources of Catholic Dogma that say that canonizations are infallible ... this subject is not even addressed.

If infallible canonizations ... was a teaching of the Catholic Church it most certainly would have shown up in this search.

The three possibilities for when heresy is in the writing of someone who has been designated a Catholic Saint

If someone who is designated as a Saint ... somehow has heresy against infallible Dogma in his
writings (such as heresy against the Water Baptism Dogma) ... there are three possibilities ...

Possibility 1 ... The Saint never wrote the heresy.

Possibility 2 ... The Saint did write the heresy ... and then Abjured (rejected) his heresy at a later date.

Possibility 3 ... The Saint did write the heresy ... and died believing the heresy.

If Possibility 3 ... is in fact the truth ... the person who was designated as a Saint is in Hell forever, since Canonizations are not infallible Dogma.
