1.   The Original Sin of Adam closed Heaven for all men (sanctifying grace was lost) ... Hell became the only possible destination for the immortal souls of men.
2.   God re-opened Heaven by founding the Catholic Church and re-introducing sanctifying grace to men's souls ... the same grace which Adam and Eve had lost.

We are currently in the Great Apostasy (world-wide rejection of God's Catholic Dogma), these warnings apply:
3.   Warning 1:  A non-Catholic anti-Christ cult (the vatican-2 heretic cult) took over all Catholic properties on 8 Dec 1965 ("v-2 council" close date).        [Section 12, 13]
4.   Warning 2:  No one Ordained those that you think are Priests ... all Bishops of the "v-2 council" were automatically excommunicated on 8 Dec 1965.     [Section 13.2]
5.   Warning 3:  Your fake "priests" turned you into heretics ... the stage shows are not Mass ... participation in the vatican-2 heresy excommunicates.    [Section 13.2.2]
6.   Warning 4:  Top level view ... why there is not a single Catholic Bishop or Priest in the world. God's Catholic Church is devastatingly small in numbers. [Section 13.6]

The "Gates of Hell" scripture of Saint Matthew 16:18 is not
about the Papacy possibly falling vacant by heresy

The phrase "Gates of Hell" has been defined by Catholic Sources of Dogma
four (4) times as meaning ... that heresy will not prevail against
the Faith (the Dogma) ... heresy will not cause the
Catholic Dogma to disappear from the world

Includes ... seven (7) Ordinary Magisterium
ciations ... in defense of these Dogmas

Attn: vatican-2 heretic cult participants:
Matthew 16:18 will not save you from Hell

~     ~     ~

Introduction:

1.  One of the most well known scriptures in the Catholic authored Bible is Saint Matthew 16:18. The scripture talks about Christ founding the Church on Saint Peter and that the "Gates of Hell" will not prevail against the Catholic Church. In way of review the scripture is:

Catholic writing of Saint Matthew 16:18 >
"And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it."

2.  In these days of nearly universal heresy and apostasy ... people falsely believe that the "Gates of Hell" scripture is about the Office of the Papacy, that the Pope can never fall into heresy ... otherwise the "Gates of Hell will have prevailed against the Church".

3.  The "Gates of Hell" scripture has absolutely nothing to do with the Office of the Papacy possibly falling vacant by heresy ... this scripture is about heresy not causing the Catholic Dogma to disappear from the world. The Church has defined four (4) times in Dogmatic Councils that the "Gates of Hell" scripture is about heresy not prevailing against the Catholic Faith.

4.  The Catholic Church are those persons who are properly baptized in water and believe the Catholic Dogma whole and inviolate. If the Bishop of Rome (the Pope) falls into heresy ... does that mean that the "Gates of Hell" (heresy) have prevailed against the Church? Of course not ... since there are still people that are baptized and believe the Catholic Dogma and they are the Catholic Church ... so no the "Gates of Hell" have not prevailed because one Bishop falls into heresy.

5.  See Section 13.3.1 for citations where Catholic Saints, Bishops, and others ... correctly apply the Automatic Excommunication Dogma to the Pope in the possibility that the Pope falls into heresy. They correctly identify the fact that the Pope would immediately fall outside of the Catholic Church and lose his Office.

Note: For the sake of this Section ... set aside the fact that the vatican-2 heretic cult (founded on 8 December 1965 at the Vatican) ... does not have the Office of the Papacy ... only the Catholic Church has the Papacy.

This Section includes ...

Sub-part A:   Sources from Dogmatic Councils that infallibly define that the Saint Matthew 16:18 "Gates of Hell" scripture is about heresy attacking the Faith (the Dogma of the Church) ... and is not about the Office of the Papacy possibly falling vacant by heresy.

Sub-part B:   In Saint Matthew 16:18 ... "And the gates of Hell will not prevail against it" ... the word "it" refers to the Church, not the Office of the Papacy.

Sub-part C:   The two levels of deception regarding the Papacy ... in these times.

Sub-part D:   Summary and remedy for those participating in the vatican-2 heretic cult.

Sources from Dogmatic Councils that infallibly define that the Saint Matthew 16:18 "Gates of Hell" scripture is about heresy attacking
the Faith (the Dogma of the Church) ... and is not about the Office of the Papacy possibly falling vacant by heresy.
Ordinary Magisterium citations follow the Sources of Dogma.

Pope and Bishops infallibly define ... that Matthew 16:18 - Gates of Hell scripture ... is not about the Pope ... # 1

~     ~

Second Council of Constantinople, Pope Vigilius, 553 A.D. -- Ex-Cathedra Dogma >
"We bear in mind what was promised about the Holy Church and Him who said the gates of Hell will not prevail against it, by these we understand the death-dealing tongues of heretics."

Note 1: The "Gates of Hell" are defined by the Pope in union with the bishops of the world, at this Dogmatic Council ... as being the "death-dealing tongues of heretics". So the "Gates of Hell" are attacks (by heresy) against the Catholic Faith (the Sources of Dogma).

Note 2: No mention here at all ... about the Office of the Papacy, or that the Pope may never fall into a state of heresy against the Faith.

Note 3: If the Bishop of Rome (the Pope) falls into heresy ... does that mean that the "tongues of heretics" have prevailed against the Church? Of course not, since the Catholic Church are those who are properly baptized in water and believe the Dogma whole and inviolate.

Note 4: If the Pope becomes a heretic ... there are others in the world who have not fallen into heresy, so the Church has not been prevailed against.

Note 5: See Section 13.3.1 for many citations from Saints, Bishops, and others ... that if the Pope falls into heresy he is automatically outside of the Catholic Church (like any other heretic), and so cannot be the head of the Church.

- - - - -

Saints identify ... that the "Gates of Hell" have not "prevailed" against the Church ... when a Pope is automatically excommunicated for heresy ...

Saint Antoninus, died 1459 A.D., cited in Actes de Vatican I. V. Frond pub. >
"In the case in which the Pope would become a heretic, he would find himself, by that fact alone and without any other sentence, separated from the Church. A head separated from a body cannot, as long as it remains separated, be head of the same body from which it was cut off. A Pope who would be separated from the Church by heresy, therefore, would by that very fact itself cease to be head of the Church."

Saint Francis De Sales, Doctor of the Church >
"Now when he (the Pope) is explicitly a heretic, he falls ipso facto from his dignity and out of the Church ..."   (Ipso facto -> By the fact itself)

Note: Saints Antoninus and Francis ... defending the Automatic Excommunication Dogma (listed on Section 13.2 of this site) and apply this Dogma to the Papacy.

Pope and Bishops infallibly define ... that Matthew 16:18 - Gates of Hell scripture ... is not about the Pope ... # 2

~     ~

Council of 1870, Session 4, First Dogmatic Constitution, Articles 4, 6 -- Ex-Cathedra Dogma >
"The whole multitude of believers should be held together in the unity of Faith (...) And since the gates of Hell trying, if they can, to overthrow the Church, make their assault with a hatred that increases day by day."

Note 1: The "Gates of Hell" are defined as attempting to prevail against the Church ... not the Office of the Papacy.

Note 2: Regarding the text ... "day by day" ... a day (of course) does not go by ... where the devil does not attack the Catholic Faith, as it is the single prescribed way to get to Heaven.

- - - - -

Catholic Cardinals identify ... that the "Gates of Hell" have not "prevailed" against the Church ... when a Pope is automatically excommunicated for heresy ...

Cardinal Robert Bellarmine, De Romano Pontifice, II, 30 >
"A Pope who is a manifest heretic automatically (per se) ceases to be Pope and head, just as he ceases automatically to be a Christian and a member of the Church."

Cardinal Billot, 1846-1931 A.D. >
"Once the hypothesis that a Pope can become a known and public heretic is conceded as a possibility, it would follow that it must be admitted without hesitation that such a Pope would ipso facto lose his Papal authority since, in betraying the faith, he would by his own will, have separated himself from the body of the Church."

Note: The heresy does not have to be manifest to cause you're excommunication, it can be privately held heresy.  Cardinals Bellarmine and Billot defending the Automatic Excommunication Dogma (listed on Section 13.2 of this site) and apply this Dogma to the Papacy.

Pope and Bishops infallibly define ... that Matthew 16:18 - Gates of Hell scripture ... is not about the Pope ... # 3

~     ~

Council of Trent, Session 3, 4 February 1546 A.D. -- Ex-Cathedra Dogma >
"The Symbol of Faith which the Holy Roman Church makes use of, as being that principle wherein all who profess the faith of Christ necessarily agree, and that firm and alone foundation against which the gates of Hell shall never prevail."

Note 1: Regarding the text ... "Symbol of Faith" ... a symbol (of Faith) is a summary of the Catholic Faith ... the two most often used are the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed.

Note 2: Council of Trent Session 3, Source of Dogma stating ... the "Gates of Hell" will not prevail over ... summaries of the Catholic Faith (Symbols) ... such as the Apostles Creed and Nicene Creed.

Note 3: Again ... the "Gates of Hell" here are defined as an attack against Faith ... not about possible instances where a Pope may fall into heresy ... and becomes a heretic.

- - - - -

Saint and Cardinal identify ... that the "Gates of Hell" have not "prevailed" against the Church ... when a Pope is automatically excommunicated for heresy ...

Saint Alphonsus Maria Liguori, Doctor of the Church, died 1787 A.D. >
"If, however, God were to permit a Pope to become a notorious and contumacious heretic, he would by such a fact cease to be Pope, and the Apostolic chair would be vacant."

Cardinal Robert Bellarmine, De Romano Pontifice, II, 30 >
"This principle is most certain. The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope (...). The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member; now he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian ... therefore the manifest heretic cannot be Pope."

Note: The heresy does not have to be notorious, manifest, or contumacious to cause you're excommunication ... it can be privately held heresy.  Saint Alphonsus and Robert Bellarmine ... defending the Automatic Excommunication Dogma (listed on Section 13.2 of this site) and apply this Dogma to the Papacy.

Pope and Bishops infallibly define ... that Matthew 16:18 - Gates of Hell scripture ... is not about the Pope ... # 4

~     ~

Council of 1870, Session 4, Chapter 4, Article 7, 18 July 1870 -- Ex-Cathedra Dogma >
"Thus the tendency to schism is removed and the whole Church is preserved in unity, and, resting on its foundation, can stand firm against the gates of Hell."

Note 1: The "whole Church" defined as standing firm against the "Gates of Hell" ... not the Papacy standing firm against the "Gates of Hell".

Note 2: Ascribing to the Papacy in times like these when the Office of the Pope is vacant ... is to submit to the Catholic Sources of Dogma defined by the Pope in union with the Bishops of the world ... Dogma which cannot change and has never changed.

Note 3: Rejecting prior defined Catholic Sources of Dogma ... as the vatican-2 heretic cult has been doing since 1965 ... from inside our formerly Catholic properties ... separates you from the Catholic Church (which has no properties or personnel hierarchy in these times).

Archbishop and Jesuit Superior General identify ... that the "Gates of Hell" have not "prevailed" against the Church ... when a Pope is automatically excommunicated for heresy ...

Archbishop Purcell, Vatican Council of 1870, in an address he presented >
"The question was also raised by a Cardinal, 'What is to be done with the Pope if he becomes a heretic ?'  From the moment he becomes a heretic he is not the head or even a member of the Church. The Church would not be, for a moment, obliged to listen to him when he begins to teach a doctrine the Church knows to be a false doctrine, and he would cease to be Pope, being deposed by God Himself."

F.X. Wernz, P. Vidal, Ius Canonicum. Rome: Gregorian 1943. 2:453 >
"But a Pope who fell into public heresy would cease by that very fact to be a member of the Church. Therefore he would also cease by that very fact to be the head of the Church."

Note: Bishop Purcell and Fr. F.X. Wernz ... defending the Automatic Excommunication Dogma (listed on Section 13.2 of this site) and apply this Dogma to the Papacy.

Ordinary Magisterium citations (non-Dogma) ... that Matthew 16:18 - Gates of Hell scripture ... is not about the Pope

~     ~

Pope Saint Leo IX, 2 September 1053 >
"The Holy Church built upon a rock, that is Christ, and upon Peter ... because by the gates of Hell, that is, by the disputations of heretics which lead the vain to destruction, it would never be overcome."

Note: Pope Leo IX ... defending the above Dogma, that the "Gates of Hell" scriptures is about ... "the disputations of heretics" ... not about the Papacy possibly falling vacant by heresy.

Saint Thomas Aquinas, Doctor of the Church, died 1274 A.D. >
"Wisdom may fill the hearts of the faithful, and put to silence the dread folly of heretics, fittingly referred to as the gates of Hell."

Note: Saint Thomas ... defending the above Dogma, that the "Gates of Hell" scriptures is about ... "the dread folly of heretics" ... not about the Papacy possibly falling vacant by heresy.

Pope Innocent XI, Coelestis Pastor, 1687 A.D. >
"Then before returning to Heaven He left on earth the Catholic Church His bride, as a new city, a holy Jerusalem, coming down from Heaven without wrinkle or spot, One and Holy, protected by His mighty weapons against the gates of Hell."

Note: Pope Innocent III ... defending the above Dogma, that the "Gates of Hell" scriptures is about ... attacks against the Catholic Church ... not about the Papacy possibly falling vacant by heresy.

Pope Pius IX, On Promotion of False Doctrines, 10 August 1863. >
"We know for certain, moreover, that the gates of hell will never prevail against the Church which stands and will stand immovable with Christ Jesus, our Lord, as guardian and protector, who has built the Church and who has been “yesterday and today and forever."

Note: Pope Pius IX ... defending the above Dogma, that the "Gates of Hell" scriptures is about ... attacks against the Catholic Church ... not about the Papacy possibly falling vacant by heresy.

Pope Clement XIV, Proclaiming a Universal Jubilee, 12 December 1769. >
"He wished it to be the bulwark of His teaching and truth against which the gates of Hell would never prevail. We, therefore, the overseers and guardians of this Holy City, must preserve the magnificent heritage of Our laws and Faith which has been passed down intact to us."

Note: Pope Clement XIV ... defending the above Dogma, that the "Gates of Hell" scriptures is about ... attacks against the Catholic Faith, and preserving Faith ... not about the Papacy possibly falling vacant by heresy.

Pope Pius X, Il Fermo Proposito, 11 June 1905. >
"This fact, however, is no reason to lose courage. The Church well knows that the gates of Hell will not prevail against her."

Note: Pope Puis X ... defending the above Dogma, that the "Gates of Hell" scriptures is about ... attacks against the Catholic Church ... not about the Papacy possibly falling vacant by heresy.

Pope Leo XII, On Secret Societies, 13 March 1826. >
"The Church founded by Jesus Christ Our Savior upon a firm Rock, and against which Christ Himself has promised that the gates of Hell will never prevail, has been so often assaulted, and by such dreadful enemies, that unless that Divine and Unchangeable Promise had intervened, it might seem that it must be feared that the Church itself, besieged be it by their power, their crafts, or their cunning, might entirely perish."

Note: Pope Leo XII ... defending the above Dogma, that the "Gates of Hell" scriptures is about ... attacks against the Catholic Church ... not about the Papacy possibly falling vacant by heresy.

In Saint Matthew 16:18 ... "And the gates of Hell will not prevail against it" ... the word "it" refers to the Church, not the Office of the Papacy

~     ~     ~

Now that we have seen the Dogmatic definitions that the phrase "Gates of Hell" means attacks of heresy against the Catholic Faith ... let us quickly review the scripture itself, to determine accurately what it says:

Catholic writing of Saint Matthew 16:18 >
"And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it."

What is the last word of this scripture - "it" - referring to in Matthew 16:18 ?

The word  "it"  is referring to the Catholic Church ... it is not referring to the Office of the Papacy, to Saint Peter, or to his successors in the Office of the Papacy.

To say that the word  "it"  refers to the Office of the Papacy is a complete grammatical mis-reading of this scripture.

If this scripture was referring to Saint Peter (or his successors) the scripture would read ... "and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against you".

This is an incredibly common misconception, in large measure because Christ was talking to Saint Peter when He made this statement ... about the Church.

So that ... if the Office of the Papacy falls vacant by heresy, then one cannot say that Matthew 16:18 is false because Matthew 16:18 is talking about the Church. This must be the case because if the Bishop of Rome falls into heresy it, of course, does not mean ... that the gates of Hell have prevailed against the Church since the Church consists of all those who are baptized in water and believe the Catholic Sources of Dogma.

The fact that the Bishop of Rome may fall into heresy does not mean that the Catholic Church has been run off the face of the earth by the gates of Hell ... just because one person falls into heresy ... this would clearly be a preposterous conclusion.

The (still existing) Office to the Papacy fell vacant when anti-Christs usurped this office in 1914 at the death of Pope Pius X. See Sections 20, 20.1, and 20.2 for the heresies of anti-Popes "benedict-15", "pius-11", and "pius-12". Following the fact that the Chair of Peter fell empty in 1914 is the fact that the Catholic Church lost its buildings to the vatican-2 jew-heretic cult on 8 December 1965 at the close of the "vatican-2 council" (see Sections 12 and 13 and subsections).

S u b - p a r t    C

The two levels of deception regarding the Papacy ... in these times

~     ~     ~

Deception 1:  The vatican-2-ists think that the group leader of the vatican-2 heretic cult (that was founded in 1965) ... is the Catholic Pope when the vatican-2 cult group leader is just the leader of one of the many thousands of heretic groups in the world.

Deception 2:  Only after being in Deception 1 above ... then the vatican-2-ists wrongly equate the Office of the Papacy falling vacant (remember, they think their cult has the Papacy) ... with the gates of Hell prevailing against the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church cannot be prevailed against ... it can only increase and decrease in numbers (and gain or lose buildings) depending on how many people are baptized in water and believe the Catholic Sources of Dogma.

The vatican-2-ists accept outrageous heretics like Joseph Ratzinger (a.k.a. "Benedict XVI") as Catholic bishops in large part to cover for their own heresy against the Catholic Dogma. They attempt to employ the heretical vatican-2 cult as a "cover story" (an excuse) for the fact that they themselves are heretics. The "I’m innocent" plea ... I was just believing what I was told by the heretic vatican-2 group leaders (who are dressed like Catholic priests) ... will not work to save them from Hell. The reason: Their physical participation in the vatican-2 heresy has caused their automatic excommunication from the Catholic Church (outside of which none are saved).

An integral part of this process of self-deception is the mis-use of the Catholic writing of Matthew 16:18, that the gates of Hell will not prevail against the Catholic Church ... which the vatican-2-ists are not even in ... as they falsely "interpret" the "Gates of Hell" scripture to be about the Papacy.

They think that this excuse (making believe that the vatican-2 cult is the Catholic Church) will be the loophole that will keep them from Hell (it won't) ... as they oppose the Catholic Sources of Dogma in their souls and as they physically participate in a non-Catholic cult. This is a 100% faulty assessment as the vatican-2-ists continue in their break with the spiritual realities (the Catholic Dogma).

Vatican-2-ists ... if you are talking to your automatically excommunicated vatican-2 group leader (who is dressed like a Catholic priest) about the problems inside what used to be our Catholic buildings ... he may reply: "But the gates of Hell will not prevail against the Church". By these very words he is working to secure your eternal damnation as a physical participant in the non-Catholic vatican-2 heretic cult, because participation in heresy causes your automatic excommunication from Christianity (the Catholic Church, which (again) has no buildings at this time).

S u b - p a r t    D

Summary and remedy for those participating in the vatican-2 heretic cult

~     ~     ~

1.  The Divinely established Office of the Papacy cannot be destroyed, it is vacant and has been since 1914. The Sources of Dogma of the Pope in union with the bishops of the world are all fully operative. See Section 13.6, Sub-part C regarding the fact that Catholic jurisdiction began to disappear across the world in 1914.

2.  Re-instituting the Catholic Papacy and priesthood is not possible since Divine public revelation ended in 99 A.D. with the death of Saint John. The Dogma states that when Christ returns it will be only for the judgement ... not for re-instituting the priesthood.

3.  Vatican-2-ists, we want to provide you with this clear warning ... hiding behind your heretical, non-Catholic "interpretation" of the Catholic writing of Saint Matthew 16:18 ... is not saving your immortal soul from Hell.

4.  The Catholic remedy ... if you are physically participating in the vatican-2 heretic cult (or have in the past), or if you have fallen into heresy against any Catholic Dogma ... is to make a Formal Abjuration of heresy to re-enter the Catholic Church. There are two Abjurations on Section 19.1 of this site, the top one is for leaving the vatican-2 heresy and entering the Catholic Church. Please make the Abjuration in the context of the steps on Section 2.1 of the site.

5.  After re-entering the Catholic Church you must make a General Confession of your sins ... since there is no forgiveness of sins outside of the Catholic Church in any heretic cult ("vatican-2", "lutheran", "methodist", "evengelical", etc.). None of your "confessions" in the vatican-2 cult brought absolution of sins. Please see the Catholic Dogma on Section 10.2 which addresses how to return to a state of grace when confession is not available (which has happened in a great many places and times since the founding of the Catholic Church in 33 A.D.).

Pope Boniface VIII, Unam Sanctam, 18 Nov 1302 -- Ex-Cathedra Dogma >
"With Faith urging us we are forced to believe and to hold the one, holy, Catholic Church and that, apostolic, and we firmly believe and simply confess this Church outside of which there is no salvation nor remission of sin."
