The Catholic Church did no such thing. Before the invention of the printing press, the Church had to chain the Bibles inside the Churches because they were very expensive to write out by hand. Imagine the expense yourself of hand writing the Bible at $10 per hour.

The very first book printed on the Gutenberg press (Gutenberg was Catholic) was the Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible in 1445 A.D. -- so the Church immediately used this new technology for the benefit of souls.

If the Catholic Church unfulfilled had not written the Old Testament, and fulfulled the New Testament ... the world wouldn't have the Bible at all. But the Catholic God chose to give us Bible texts through the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Church wrote the first Bible in English 700 years before ... heretic Martin Luther went haywire in his confusion.

         "The heretic revolt of the 1500s took place because people finally "got the Bible" and saw that the Catholic Church was "teaching against the Bible".

The truth from Heaven is the Catholic Dogma on Faith and Morals ... as the Catholic authored scriptures themselves state ... the scriptures state that the Church is the final authority on Faith and Morals, not the Bible.

The Catholic Church wrote and has maintained the Bible. The heretic cults stole the Catholic writings of the Bible from Catholic Church and immediately proceeded to corrupt them. The heretics are the enemies of the Bible as proven here:

The heretics of the 1500s threw seven Books out the Old Testament that Christ and the Apostles quoted from over 30 times -- see Section 46 of this site.

The heretic destruction of what they call "Bibles" is not limited to the sinful and illicit removal of Canonical Books, but they corrupt the scripture throughout ...

... an example is that the authentic Bible in English (the Douay Rheims) has the word "works" in the New Testament 108 times. The heretic "new international version" has the word "works" only 19 times -- what happened to the other 89 instances?

Worse yet ... the Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible has the word "penance" in the New Testament 45 times ... the n.i.v. has the word "penance" exactly zero (0) times. What happened to all the penance scriptures in the Bible that the heretics are supposed to love so much?

If the heretics love the Bible so much ... why are they destoying it by their corruptions of the text in their "versions"?

The Douay-Rheims Bible is the authentic translation of the Latin Vulgate. The Latin Vulgate has been canonically defined as being free from error.

Council of Trent, Session 4, Decree Concerning the Canonical Scriptures, 1546 A.D. -- Ex-Cathedra Dogma >

God made Saint Jerome a language expert, Saint Jerome had the source documents in the 4th century to produce the Latin Vulgate ... this took him 24 years.

As stated in the previous record the Latin Vulgate is the free from error scripture which Saint Jerome compiled using source documents in the 4th century ... and the Douay-Rheims is the authentic translation of the Latin Vulgate into English.

Lets look at a couple of examples regarding this Latin-to-English translation, this will help you to determine who is trying to destroy the Bible ... the Catholic Church or the anti-Christ heretics ...

New Testament - Search on the word "penance" ...    Latin -> paenitentiam, paenitentiae
Latin Vulgate = 41 times     (Note: there may be a couple other Latin derivatives I missed to bring the total to 45)
Douay-Rheims Bible = 45 times
new international version = 0 (zero) instances
king james = 0 (zero) instances
new international reader's version = 0 (zero) instances
English standard version = 0 (zero) instances

The heretics take out the word "penance" and replace it with "repent", "repented", "repentance", etc ... but repenting and repentance is vowing avoiding sin and turn toward God ... while penance is doing reparation (repairing) for sins committed. The heretic switching of these words is total corruption of the scriptures.

New Testament - Search on the word "works" ...     Latin -> operibus (44 times), opera (56 times)
Latin Vulgate = 44 + 56 = 100 times     (Note: there may be a couple other Latin derivatives I missed to bring the total to 108)
Douay-Rheims Bible = 108 times
new international version = 65
new international version - UK = 65
new century version = 34 times
new international reader's version = 51 times

Old and New Testament - Search on the word "Hell" ...     Latin -> inferos (15), infernus (9), infernum (23), inferno (19), inferi (8), inferni (10), gehennam (8), inferus (6), gehenna (1)
Latin Vulgate = 15 + 9 + 23 + 19 + 8 + 10 + 8 + 6 + 1 = 99 times     (Note: there may be a couple other Latin derivatives I missed to bring the total to 110)

We can easily see ... from these English translations who is preserving the Bible (the Catholic Church) and who is corrupting it (the heretics). You can do other searches on other words and see the separation ... of the various "versions" from the Douay-Rheims Bible accurate translation of the free from error Latin Vulgate.

Latin was the universal language of those who could read in western Europe, those who could not read Latin could not read period. Latin was not a dead or archaic language used to "keep the scriptures from the people." For those who could not read, the Church taught verbally, used the mediums of art, sculpture, Passion and Miracle Plays, etc. to teach the people the Catholic Faith.

The Bible was translated into Spanish, Italian, Danish, French, Norwegian, Polish, Bohemian and Hungarian long before the time of heretic Martin Luther.

The Venerable Bede of the English monastery of Wearmouth and Jarrow (near modern-day Sunderland and Newcastle) translated the Gospel of John into Old English, completing the work on the very day of his death. Venerable Bede died in 735 A.D. -- so over 750 years before heretic Luther the Church had been translating parts of the Bible into English.

         "The Catholic Church kept the Bible in Latin in order to "keep it from the people" (part 2)."

The Catholic Church did do translations of the Bible into the vernacular well before the time that heretic Luther fraudulently wrote his corrupted "bible" in 1520.

The Church did translations into German, Italian, French and Spanish before Luther's corrupted text was issued.

The Church has approved Catholic societies for the diffusion of the Holy Gospels in the vernacular, such as the Society of Saint Jerome.

Prior to the increases in education and literacy, there was no need to translate the Bible into the vernaular. Even in the 1400s literacy rates were very low, I tried to find percentage data on this but found none, which suggests in itself that literacy was probably well under 10%.

         "The Catholic Church used to burn Bibles."

The Catholic Church did not burn the true Bible which she had produced by hand before the printing press. The Church did burn the corrupted "bibles" of the anti-Christ heretics in order to work for the salvation of souls.

The Church did burn the counterfeit "bibles" ... such as the Coverdale, Tyndale, and Wycliffe "bibles" because they were fictions of the jew-heretics. Counterfeit texts are not the word of God ... they're from the devil.

         "Heretics love the Scriptures more than Catholics."

Whether the heretics "love the scriptures" or not is completely irrelevant because the Bible doesn't even apply to heretics since they are automatically excommunicated from Christianity (the Catholic Church). The Bible only applies to Christians and heretics are not Christians.

How can they "love the scriptures" when the heretics deny the Catholic Dogma which the Catholic authored scriptures support and defend.

         "The bible and the bible alone ... the Catholic Church is not necessary for salvation (getting to Heaven)."

The Catholic authored Bible states the opposite of this propaganda ... in the scripture's defense of the Catholic Salvation Dogma:

Setting aside for a moment the Bible doesn't even apply to heretics ...

A heretic professor at Northwestern University sent out a questionnaire to 1309 hertic group leaders and 5 heretic "seminaries" and got the following response as to whether they believed the scriptures to be of Divine inspiration.

The following are the percentages of those who do not believe that the Scriptures are Divinely inspired:

"lutheran"  -  2%    (This low percentage is questionable, since it is so much lower than the other heretics)
"baptist"  -  38%
"presbyterian"  -  56%
"episcopalian"  -  60%
"methodist"  -  65%
"congregational"  -  83%
"seminarian" students  -  92%

The heretics don't defend the scriptures (which don't apply to them anyway).

         "Heretics believe that the Holy Spirit guides them as they read and interpret the Bible ... so they don't need a teaching Church."

Setting aside for the moment that the Bible doesn't apply to anyone outside of Christianity (like the heretics) ...

If the above propaganda were true then the Holy Spirit (Who cannot deceive) would be guiding all of the heretic groups to come to the identically same interpretation of the various scriptures.

By the empirical (by observation) evidence there are thousands of different heretic cults all claiming to be guided by the Holy Spirit but yet coming to different "theological" conclusions. This chaos of Satan's heretic realm is proof that the Holy Spirit has not chosen this way of leading men to the truth. The heretic method of "getting to the truth" is a complete impossibility since God cannot contradict Himself ... and truth cannot contradict truth.

This propaganda angle is irrelevant because the truth from Heaven is not the proper interpretation of the scriptures, the truth from Heaven is the infallible Catholic Dogma and Sources of Dogma.

It is also irrelevant if the heretic group leader interprets a scripture properly (by offering that explaination which supports the Catholic Dogma) ... simply because the scriptures do not apply to those outside of Christianity -- heretics are not Christians.

         "The Catholic Church is built on the information it gets from the Bible."

The Bible comes from the Catholic Church (who wrote it) the Church doesn't come from the Bible.

The Catholic Church comes from its Founder Jesus Christ. Christ did not write a single line of scripture and He did not instruct the Apostles to write anything.

After the foundation of the Church -- probably between 20 and (up to) about 70 years after -- the Books of the New Testament were written by members of the Catholic Church.

Why do the heretics believe the Catholic Church as to what Books are supposed to be included in the New Testament (the 27 Book Canon) and yet do not believe the Catholic Church on other matters -- this is inconsistency brought about by the darkening of the heretic souls.

Not to suggest evil, but to demonstrate the hypocrisy -- why don't the heretics write their own New Testament instead of stealing the one written by the Catholic Church. Although one can argue that they have written their own by corrupting the Catholic authored scriptures.

There is no such thing as a Catholic teaching which is against the scripture.

The scriptures do not apply to heretics since heretics are outside of Christianity, so the above propaganda is a moot point.

         The heretics ... "But what about Saint John 3:16" -- "For God so loved the world, as to give His only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in Him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting."

Heretics don't need to worry about John 3:16 ... it doesn't apply to them. The Bible only applies to Christians.

Also, Saint John 3:16 is about the Catholic Jesus Christ ... it is not about the fictional heretic "Christs" such as the "lutheran Christ", "baptist Christ", "methodist Christ", "vatican-2 Christ", "evangelical Christ", etc.

The phrase "believeth in Him" means to believe everything that Christ taught, not simply believe in His existence.
