Those who were against Him can be called "jews" since the Church needs a name for those who apostatized out of the Israelite covenant. See Section 39.1 of this site. Some who were in a state of apostasy did convert (i.e. they entered the covenant by entering the Catholic Church and therefore had Original Sin remitted by water baptism) such as Saint Paul -- see Sections 7.2 and 7.2.1.
